Quick update

"The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases;
his mercies never come to an end;
they are new every morning;
great is your faithfulness.
"The LORD is my portion," says my soul,
"therefore I will hope in him."
The LORD is good to those who wait for him,
to the soul who seeks him.
It is good that one should wait quietly
for the salvation of the LORD." Lamentations 3:22-26

-Jordan's team is still undefeated! Yay! Javier just glows when he tells me that all of Jordan's hits are bullets (hard line drives) and he hits everything. Since Javi is coaching, they are spending so much time together - what a blessing!

-We made $1000 at our garage sale this last weekend thanks to many generous donations and great help.

-Today, someone has committed to rent our home and possibly buy it as soon as they can. They want to be in by May 1, so we will be closing on our new house Friday so that we can start fixing, painting and cleaning it this weekend and coming week. Our goal is to move out of our current house April 26. Javier was going to have to travel that weekend and his company wouldn't let him out of it, but today they cancelled the whole thing. Yay!

-Grandma and Grandpa plan to take our 4 big kids to Disneyland thanks to my cousin and my sister's husband's sister :) who have provided tickets for them. The kids are sooo excited. Hopefully I will get a lot done on the house since I will just have Joanna.

-I am sorry there is no news on our adoption other than our papers should finally go to Ethiopia this week and our director said he does hope to have our referrals and court date before the courts shut down for the rainy season (which will probably happen sometime in July and could last 2 months or so I think).

-In case I error and make everything sound too peachy . . . Jacklyn cut chunks out of her hair and one chunk out of Joanna's hair. I was not a happy camper and I think she learned her lesson. Then today, Joanna was bathing with me and I was drying off first and she grabbed my razor and swiped it across her face. At first glance she was fine, thank goodness she did not cut herself. But at second glance, 1/2 of her eyebrow is shaved off! I couldn't believe it because I was right there and I was not distracted, but I couldn't react fast enough. Oh and here is the kicker, when I told her to show daddy what she did, Jo Jo said, "Jackie did it." (Jackie was not even in the same room when she did that). We are also working through some heart/sin issues with our other kids, especially one, but my good friend reminded me that we can even be thankful for these misbehaviours we are dealing with because it reveals that we are all sinners and it is a perfect opportunity to lead our children to the cross and the forgiveness and transformation we can have in Christ.

So in the midst of all this, even the "bad times", I can genuinely say, "His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning. Great is His faithfullness."

The Kendall Farm and another win

Yesterday, we went to our friends' house. They just bought a whole bunch of farm animals - goats, pigs, chickens, turkeys, ducks, rabbits, a sheep and ?. The kids had great fun petting and holding the different critters. They had the cutest baby pig that we got to hold and feed with a baby bottle. He would squeal hard if you did not snuggle him tight to your body. Thanks Kendall family!

Also, the Lug Nuts won another game last night - GOOOO LUG NUTS! Jordan continues to do well and improve. He has gotten a hit every time and he made a good play as pitcher last night. He is one of the youngest kids on the team, but you would never know it.
Go to Janae's blog (link on the sidebar) to see her post about the day at the farm and her picture feeding the pig.
